    At a young age, Dr. Bradley Backoff knew he wanted to be a doctor. “I chose podiatry because I wanted to combine medical and surgical skill to better care for my patients,” he says. Dr. Backoff actively listens to his patients and enjoys getting to know them. “I like to make the exam room environment fun,” he says. Dr. Backoff loves working with the senior population. “I want to help increase the quality of life of people most at-risk for health challenges,” he says. He often attends conferences and lectures to keep up with medical advancements. In his free time, Dr. Backoff enjoys traveling and spending time with his Welsh corgi. An interesting fact about Dr. Backoff is that he used to serve as a high school ice hockey official.

    Dr. Fabian Rodriguez studied Agronomy and Horticulture before realizing his true passion is medicine. “My interest in research and service to others grew,” he explains. He likes establishing relationships with patients through trust, active listening, and humility. His favorite part of being a physician is providing patients with “unbiased, evidenced-based education for their general health and wellbeing.” He believes in shared decision-making and always considers each patient’s individual needs and values. In his free time, Dr. Rodriguez likes visiting cultural centers and enjoying the outdoors with his family. He also loves visiting historical museums. Dr. Rodriguez is a proud member of the Air Force Reserves as a Flight Surgeon.

    Interacting with and educating patients is Ken Bryner’s favorite part of his profession. He feels a “great deal of pride” caring for the senior population. “Patient empowerment is the best thing you can provide to an elderly patient that feels like they have lost all sense of control with everything around them,” he says. He likes including patients in developing their treatment plans and believes it is “very important to honor the patient’s wishes.” He adds, “My main goal in healthcare is to keep my patients healthy, happy, and at home.” He also specializes in Nephrology, Dialysis, and Dementia Care. Ken Bryner loves spending his free time with his wife and rescue dog. He also enjoys camping, bowling, and riding his HD trike.

    For Dr. Susmita Mookerjee, the most rewarding part of working in healthcare is helping patients feel better, especially seniors. “When they’re feeling better, they start feeling more like themselves, and often their loved ones notice,” she says, while explaining the effect of senior health on the community. She values open communication and collaboration, explaining, “I respect their autonomy […] by providing meaningful care that optimizes their health.” She adds, “When a chronic condition is finally controlled and stable, the patient doesn’t just feel better, they can regain quality of life.” In her free time, Dr. Mookerjee can be found tending to her fruit and vegetable garden or enjoying various types of art.

  • Joseph William Rall

    Dr. Joseph “Joe” William Rall has always wanted to be a physician. “I was drawn to the beauty and self-healing properties of human physiology, but more importantly, I was inspired by the opportunity for long-lasting, personal relationships with patients,” he explains. He loves learning about his patients, including their life experiences and family, to better address their health goals. He strives to help his patients “feel as good as the can for as long as they can.” He particularly enjoys caring for seniors. He adds, “I try to be a continuous learner with a growth mindset.” Joe loves spending his free time with his wife and three daughters. He also enjoys reading, gardening, and cheering for all the Cleveland sports teams.
