Wrong Choice for Larger Trees, Good for shrubs and small trees

We used Brian's Stump Grinding business twice. The first time for a shrub and small tree. The second time was to remove the stump of a large, old tree. We were concerned that Brian was grinding in the wrong area after he had the stump to ground level or thereabouts, that he was just churning soil adjacent to the stump. In fact, I told him so and said that there was still wood. He ground on the other side of the trunk, more soil churning and said there was no more wood. After he was paid and left I cleared the soil and the trunk was still there, right where I had told him. So we have to have another company come back and grind the stump properly. My advice, if you have something larger than a shrub or small tree, then go with someone with the equipment and knowledge with grinding larger tree stumps. And have a shovel handy and check the area before you pay. Otherwise, like us, you may have to pay to have the job done twice. Pay twice. There was no savings in Brian's service, the second company that had the proper equipment was no more money. J. Bush
